Karnataka now a better place for investment: CM Siddaramaiah to US investors

Siddaramaiah has requested US senators to convince US investors to utilise the investment opportunities in Karnataka.

Bengaluru: CM Siddaramaiah has requested US senators to convince US investors to utilise the investment opportunities in Karnataka.

During the meeting with a US parliamentary delegation here on Thursday, Mr. Siddaramaiah said Karnataka has an excellent ecosystem for investment with good rail, road and air connectivity, logistic support, infrastructure and peaceful labour.

The state government’s industrial policy 2014-19 encourages Non-Resident Indian and Non-Resident Kannadigas’ companies to invest in the state, the CM said.

He requested the US government to reconsider its decision to enhance the Visa fees payable by Indian IT companies which post their qualified personnel to work in the US.

This fee hike is not only an artificial barrier to the free flow of qualified personnel between the two countries but also exposes the discriminatory treatment meted out to Indian IT companies operating in the US, Mr Siddaramaiah said.
