P Jayarajan's advance bail plea rejected
KANNUR: There are chances of the CBI arresting CPM district secretary P. Jayarajan in the Kathirur Manoj murder case with the Thalasserry district and sessions court dismissing his anticipatory bail petition on Tuesday.
Judge V.G. Anilkumar, in his order, said Mr Jayarajan was not an accused in the case. After the verdict, Mr Jayarajan told reporters that the party would take the next legal step based on the CBI move.
“The court observed that I am not an accused in the case. So that legal fight ends there,” Mr Jayarajan said. According to sources, the CBI is likely to send another summons to him for quizzing.
This is the second time the court has rejected the bail petition of Mr Jayarajan. During the hearing on Monday, CBI public prosecutor K. Krishnakumar had said that since the UAPA section was charged, no anticipatory bail could be allowed.
Mr Jayarajan had clarified that the CBI was dancing to the tunes of the BJP and that the attempts had been strengthened after the recent visit of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat to Kannur.
