Hyderabad: Fun turns serious, friend kills man
Hyderabad: A fight between friends which started due to an attempt to have fun ended up with one of them killing the other.
Akhilesh Choudhury, hit his friend Shivnath Kumar Singh with a cricket stump on the head and killed him instantly. Both are roommates and work in the CTC area.
Police said the deceased, Shivnath Kumar Singh, 33, and the accused Akhilesh Choudhury, 26, are from Bihar. They and two other friends were staying in a rented house in the New Bhoiguda area.
On Sunday at around 9.30 pm, Shivnath and Akhilesh were making supper, and Akhilesh started making fun of Shivnath by pulling his shorts.
Shivnath became angry, but kept quiet as Akhilesh was younger than him. But Akhilesh continued to make fun of Shivnath. Another roommate Nikhilesh who noticed this, slapped Akhilesh and told him not to behave in such a way with people elder to him.
Akhilesh accepted his mistake and apologised to Shivnath, but Shivanath slapped Akhilesh.
Later, they had supper and slept. While everyone slept in the second room, Shivnath slept in the room where the incident took place.
“Around 1 am, Akhilesh woke up Shivnath and picked up an argument asking why he slapped him even after apologising. He then took a cricket stump and hit Shivnath on the head,” said Mahankali inspector K. Satyanarayana.
Shivnath who suffered a serious injury below the right ear died on the spot.
Rajkumar, another roommate who woke up found Shivnath lying in a pool of blood alerted the police. Based on a complaint from Rajkumar, a murder case was registered against Akhilesh Choudhury and he was taken into custody.
