Andhra Pradesh youth clears CA in first try

Out of the 42,469 students, 2,440 were successful with a pass percentage of 5.75.

Nellore: Nagolu Mohan Kumar from Andhra Pradesh on Sunday bagged the second rank in the national-level Chartered Accountants final examination in his first attempt. The examination was held in November last year and the results were announced on Sunday.

Mr Kumar belongs to a nondescript village, Chodavaram in Srikalahasthi mandal of Chittoor district.

The first and third ranks went to James John Britto. R of Chennai and Avinash Sancheti of Kolkata. Mr Britto scored 595 marks out of 800, Mr Kumar 572 and Mr Sancheti, 566. Mr Kumar passed all subjects in his first attempt, which is a rare feat.

Out of the 42,469 students, 2,440 were successful with a pass percentage of 5.75.

Mr Kumar, son of farmer Nagaraja Reddy and home-maker Manjula, attributed his success to hard work under the guidance of lecturers at Superwhizz, Vijayawada.

He said: "It is not like other courses where you can begin to prepare one month before the exams. Think twice before choosing this course.”
