Hyderabad: As many as 27 candidates of the MIM, including former mayor Majid Hussain, on Saturday filed their nominations for the GHMC polls.
The party has accommodated Mr Hussain from Mehdipatnam division as the Ahmednagar ward, which he represented earlier, has been reserved for BC women.
The MIM which had confined its fight to major wards located in the Old City till last elections, has this time fielded its candidates in wards located in constituencies of Malkajgiri, Qutubullapur, Kukatpally, Rajendranagar, and Serilingampally, besides fielding candidates in four wards of Jubilee Hills.
The party has given the ticket for Jambagh division to former Congress leader D. Mohan.
It also given tickets to over 20 women, including two doctors, Zaveri Fatima for Old Malakpet and Samina for Kurmaguda, and has accommodated most of its former corporators.
