PM's contribution to Telangana is zero: KT Rama Rao , BJP no hero

Mr Rama Rao said that when the PM can provide a special package to Gujarat, why couldn't he give a similar package to TS.

Hyderabad: Accusing Telugu Desam of playing the regional and the BJP the communal card to vitiate the environment in Hyderabad city, panchayat raj minister K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s contribution to Hyderabad and TS.

“What did the NDA government do for Hyderabad after coming to power? What did the PM do for Hyderabad? He is busy with foreign trips and has forgotten his promise to bring back black money stashed in foreign banks. Forget about black money, we now have to bring him back from his frequent foreign trips,” he said sarcastically.

Mr Rama Rao, who welcomed city BJP leaders Bangaru Prakash, Sama Surender Reddy and others into the TRS fold, went hammer and tongs against Modi.

“Modi did two things. One, he gave a broom to everyone to clean our homes and two, he asked every one of us to open bank accounts and deposit our money. Did Modi ever show his face to the people of Telangana? With what face do BJP leaders seek votes? Are Bandaru Dattatreya and Kishan Reddy aware of the problems faced by Telangana people?” he asked.

Mr Rama Rao said that when the PM can provide a special package to Gujarat, why couldn’t he give a similar package to TS. “Why don’t BJP leaders question Modi on this?” he asked.

Mr Rama Rao said the people of the twin cities were living in harmony and advised BJP and TD leaders not to vitiate the environment with provocative speeches or hatch a conspiracy to disturb the peace.

“TD is seeking votes in the name of region and BJP is playing communal card for votes. BJP should stop playing communal card. TD is worried that there over the absence of infighting in the TRS. We have to do a lot for Hyderabad and it will be done with your (people’s) cooperation,” he said.

He said that the atmosphere in the Telangana Bhavan is one of victory and the party was sure to win the GHMC polls hands down,” he said.
