Andhra Pradesh: Daughter goes missing, man ends life
GUDUR: A 35-year-old man named Boda Ravi hanged himself on Thursday as his 15-year-old daughter had gone missing.
The incident took place at Cherla thanda on the outskirts of Gudenga village. Rural ASP John Wesley said Ravi killed himself as his daughter had gone missing from school.
Ravi’s family alleged that he committed suicide only because of police harassment.
On January 8, after coming to know that his daughter Boda Kavitha, 15, a Class IX student, was missing from the social welfare hostel in Gudur, Ravi filed a complaint with the police.
The police questioned her contacts and her parents and sister. Hostel records show that Kavitha was not attending school since June. But her parents were not told. Kavitha visited her parents during Diwali. She left saying she was going to school.
Meanwhile, TD leader Seethakka blamed the TRS for girls going missing from hostels. She said the police was trying to cover it up due to pressure from TRS leaders involved in it.
There was no contact between the daughter and parents since then. That was the last time she was seen by her family. They came to know their daughter was missing only recently.
Meanwhile, TD leader Seethakka blamed the TRS for girls going missing from hostels. She said there can be a racket behind the curtains but the police was trying to cover it up due to pressure from TRS leaders involved in it.
