Past candidates rush to apply for DSC jobs

The candidates could not get postings at that time for various reasons.

Hyderabad: The recent announcement to fill vacant seats for teachers' posts through DSC exam has resulted in new problems for the Telangana government. Candidates who figured on the merit list in 1998, 2008 and 2012 DSC tests are seen flocking to the office of the commissioner, school education department, here for the last few days with their grievances.

These candidates could not get postings at that time for various reasons like changes in the merit lists and change of rules post-results. Some went to court without giving up the fight. They brought the issue to the notice of the previous Congress government but in vain. K Chandrashekar Rao's assurances made during their agitation time that candidates would get justice after formation of Telangana had rekindled their hopes.

"We are hoping that KCR, now that he has become the Chief Minister, will keep his word and give posting to all of us," Umamaheshwar Reddy from DSC-2008 batch stated. According to estimates, 1,600 candidates from 2008 batch and 170 from 2012 batch did not get posting.

The number of candidates from 1998 batch, according to their colleagues, is nearly 3,000. It is not known how many of these candidates are still unemployed or whether they have opted for some other field for livelihood, they said.
