Is Kasargod home for baddies? natives ask Ramesh Chennithala

Irked by Ramesh's FB post announcing transfer of DySP who harassed techie.

Kochi: ‘I’ll transfer you to Kasargod,’ is a cliche used in Malayalam movies often but Kasargod natives are just not amused about the usage of the phrase. Fed up over frequent transfers, Kasargod natives took to Facebook to vent their frustration and hurled abuses on the Facebook page of Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala.

What irked the residents of Kasargod district is the latest move of Ramesh Chennithala to transfer DySP K K Ramachandran who allegedly harassed a techie at Paliyekkara toll. Hundreds of Kasargod natives have posted abusive posts on the official Facebook page of the minister. People of Kasargod spammed Ramesh Chennithala’s Facebook page arguing that Kasargod should not be a place to shunt out officials under punishment.

“Kasargod is not a dumping ground to transfer all wrong doers in the service”, many posted. Kasargod is not a public toilet. We are human beings and we also have voting rights, so please don’t humiliate Kasargod." “After hearing the news, we, the natives of Kasargod, are wondering whether we committed a mistake or has DySP K K Raveendran,” another posted.

While one Subair commented “the officer will be having his best time at Kasargod. The district is known for a reduced crime rate, low liquor consumption rate and lesser number of criminal cases. So he will not have to do anything other than sitting in his office.” Many were unhappy over the tone used by the minister to announce the transfer of DySP. Late on Tuesday night, he announced the transfer news on his Facebook page.
