Dumball Rally arrives in Kochi
Kochi: A charity car race started in 2007, Dumball Rally, which gained worldwide attention for its unique concept of ‘fancy dress festival on wheels’ has reached Kerala. Named as ‘Dumball Its A Goa’, the rally started from Chennai and will reach Goa after visiting various States. The Indian rally stared on January 10 and will conclude on 16. The car rally reached Thiruvananthapuram on Janaury 11. After visiting Kovalam, Alappuzha the team reached Kochi on Tuesday before leaving for Coimbatore via Athirapally on Wednesday. The rally is to create awareness on teenage cancer and raise funds for the UK based Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for the seven young people aged 13 to 24 diagnosed with cancer every day.
A big team of 125 young members including businesspersons and CEOs of companies and renowned personalities from across the globe are participating in the event. Termed as the longest car rally in the world, the event is being telecasted by the Extreme Sports Channel of BBC.
