Vivek Oberoi adopts Paritala's village

Vivek Oberoi symbolically swept a street and inaugurated toilets and a drinking water scheme as part of a smart village initiative.

Anantapur: Actor Vivek Oberoi, who played former minister Paritala Ravindra in the film Rakta Charitra, has decided to adopt a village that was loved by the slain factionist.

Vivek Oberoi who had met Paritala’s family during the shooting of the film two years ago has kept in touch with the slain minister’s wife Sunita and son Sriram.

The actor announced that he was adopting Muthuvakuntla in Kanganipalli mandal in Rapthadu constituency in the district. The village was once a hotbed of faction killings. He visited the village for the first time on Tuesday and said that he was adopting it as it was one of the favorite villages of Paritala.

“I will make all possible efforts to develop the village,” the actor said. He symbolically swept a street and inaugurated toilets and a drinking water scheme as part of a smart village initiative.

Later, he enjoyed a meal of Ragi Sangati, a traditional Rayalaseema delicacy, along with the villagers.
