CSIR To Hold 2-Day Startup Conclave In Hyderabad
The conclave is expected to bring together entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders, researchers and policymakers to share insights, network and explore collaboration opportunities.

Organised jointly by IICT, CCMB and NGRI — all CSIR labs in the city — the conclave will be held at Zaheer Memorial School Ground, IICT, Uppal Road, Tarnaka in Hyderabad. Around 70 start-ups are expected to showcase their technologies and products. The sessions and exhibition will begin at 10.30 am and end at 5.30 pm and are open to the public.
The conclave is expected to bring together entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders, researchers and policymakers to share insights, network and explore collaboration opportunities. Union minister of science and technology Dr Jitendra Singh will inaugurate the conclave on April 22. CSIR director general Dr N. Kalaiselvi will deliver a special address. On the second day, Union coal minister G. Kishan Reddy, BJP MP Etala Rajendar and MLA Bathula Laxma Reddy will attend the conclave.
IICT director Dr Srinivasa Reddy said: “The conclave aims at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in India's research and technology ecosystems. It highlights CSIR-driven startups and technologies, particularly those nurtured by the three Hyderabad-based CSIR labs”. Keynote sessions from eminent scientists and policymakers, panel discussions on emerging technologies and R&D commercialisation, technology demonstrations and startup pitch sessions are all part of the conclave. An exhibition pavilion will highlight cutting-edge solutions from the host institutions and startups that are incubated at these labs or are spin offs from the technologies of these labs.
CCMB director Dr Vinay Nandicoori said the event helps highlight the deep-tech startups working with the three CSIR labs in the city. “We hope young people take inspiration from them to take more entrepreneurial paths,” he said.
NGRI director Dr Prakash Kumar said his lab’s R&D efforts were driven by real stakeholders from industry and academia, including students. “The upcoming event will foster collaboration on critical R&D solutions aimed at mitigating earthquake hazards and optimising resource exploration and management," he added.
