Hyderabad: Two persons were seriously injured and two others suffered minor injuries when a private bus coming from Chittoor rammed into a van from the rear. The mishap occurred in the wee hours of Tuesday in the Shamshabad area in the city.
Police said the bus belonging to Jaibharat Travels, with 34 passengers on board, was coming to Hyderabad from Chittoor. When the bus reached Palamakula village in Shamshabad mandal around 5.30 am on Tuesday, the van moving in front of the bus slowed down to halt by the roadside.
“Not realising this the bus driver rammed into the van loaded with iron rods,” said Shamshabad sub inspector Amjad Basha. Van driver Azmatullah and another person suffered serious injuries and were later admitted to a private hospital in Secunderabad. Van helper Md Basha and Meghanath, another driver of the van, suffered minor injuries in the accident. However, none of the passengers in the bus suffered injuries.
