Two men dead while making crude bombs in West Bengal's Birbhum
Police said the tin roof of the shed was blown away by the impact of the explosion.
Kolkata: An improvised bomb exploded in West Bengal’s Birbhum district on Friday, killing two people who had been making explosives in a cow shed, a senior police official said.
Sheikh Hafizul (24) and his elder brother Shiekh Tariq Hussain (27) were killed on the spot.
"Two people were killed when the bomb they were making exploded in a cow shed in their home at Khairasol early today," police inspector general Anuj Sharma said.
"A big police contingent has rushed to the spot. We are investigating the incident."
The victims' brother Jabir Hussain, who is a Trinamool Congress representative in the local gram panchayat, and other family members escaped unhurt.
Sharma said the tin roof of the shed was blown away by the impact of the explosion.
