Woman gangraped in Muzaffarnagar, accused circulate clip
Muzaffarnagar: A 32-year-old married woman was allegedly gangraped by two persons, who filmed the entire incident and circulated the clip on the social media, police said on Sunday.
This is the second such case of clip circulation in Muzaffarnagar district after a 40-year-old married health worker allegedly committed suicide on January 13 as the video of her gangrape was uploaded on social media.
According to the complaint filed by the 32-year-old woman on Saturday, she was gangraped by two persons and recorded a video of the act two years ago in Kailawda village under Khatoli police station here. The accused have been blackmailing her since then.
They circulated the clip on social media on Saturday, police said.
According to Circle Officer Jogender Lal, a case have been registered under section 376D and 506 of IPC against the two absconding accused, Irshad and Nazer.
The woman was sent for medical examination and produced before the magistrate, where she recorded her statement under 164 CRPC, Lal said.
The search for the accused is underway, police said. Meanwhile, security has been tightened and extra police force deployed in the Kailawda village following tension between two communities.
A 40-year-old married gangrape victim consumed poison at Chapra village in the district on January 13 after she came to know about her objectionable video being circulated on WhatsApp, police had said.
