Bengaluru: Rowdy hacked to death

The deceased has been identified as Sathish alias Gunda, resident of Guddadhahalli.

Bengaluru: A 30-year-old rowdy was hacked to death by three unidentified men in broad daylight in Guddadhahalli under Hebbal police station limits on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Sathish alias Gunda, resident of Guddadhahalli. He worked as a cab driver and recently had taken up real estate business. He was a history-sheeter in all the police stations under J.C. Nagar subdivision.

Police said according to eyewitnesses the attack happened around 9.45 am. While Sathish was walking towards his home, around 3 to 4 men started chasing him carrying machetes on the Guddadhahalli main road. When they reached near a bakery they started stabbing Sathish on the stomach and face and fled.

Some passersby informed the police and rushed the victim to the hospital. He was declared brought dead at the hospital. Later his body was shifted to M.S. Ramaiah Hospital for post-mortem. Apart from eyewitnesses, the police do not have any other evidence such as CCTV footage in and around the area.

The police suspect the murder could have been due to gang rivalry. Four teams have been formed to nab the accused. “There is no clarity on the motive of the murder as of now. We’ve gotten some clues about other gangs and we are working on it,” said a senior police officer, who is one of the investigating officers.
