Hyderabad: A 48-year-old construction worker who allegedly raped a four-year-old girl was arrested on Tuesday.
Ramarao, a native of Srikakulam, raped the daughter of the watchman of the under construction apartment complex, where he was working. Police said Ramarao is married and has three daughters.
After work on Monday evening the labourers were inside their houses and the victim was playing on the premises. “He took the child into his house and raped her. His wife was also in the same room at the time of the incident but was sick and sleeping,” said inspector Mohan Kumar.
The child’s mother found her in Ramarao’s house and saw what happened to her daughter. Her neighbours nabbed Ramarao and handed him over to the police. Based on a complaint from the mother a rape case was registered.
Ramarao was remanded to judicial custody.
