Police registered a case of insulting the modesty of a woman.

Hyderabad: Banjara Hills police on Sunday registered a case against dubbing incharge B. Srinivas of the Tollywood film Nannaku Prematho and AP Movie Dubbing Artist Association president B.V. Subba Rao, for allegedly harassing women dubbing artistes by making vulgar comments.

Police said a 26-year-old dubbing artiste had lodged a complaint with the police alleging that a few months ago, she had opposed Subba Rao as president of the association, leading to a quarrel.

Following this, he suspended her membership from the association for a year.
On Thursday, when she was dubbing for Nannaku Prematho at the Shabdalaya recording studio, dubbing incharge Srinivas alias Pappu started making vulgar comments against her and her colleagues, she alleged. Subba Rao also joined Srinivas in this, she alleged.

“She alleged that they were harassing the women mentally and due to which she had attempted suicide in the past,” said Banjara Hills sub-inspector S. Sant-osham.

Based on a complaint from the victim, police registered a case of insulting the modesty of a woman under IPC Section 509 against Subba Rao and Srinivas and began investigations.
