GenY of India Inc gets ready for Davos

India's business leaders will be accompanied by their children, relatives

New Delhi: As the rich and powerful from across the world get ready for their annual jamboree in Davos, the congregation will include a number of next-generation members of India Inc including the children of top business leaders Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani.

Those registered for the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting, beginning January 19, include Karan Adani, son of billionaire industrialist Gautam Adani and CEO of Adani Ports and SEZ Ltd.

Besides, Isha and Akash Ambani would also join their father Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries at the WEF annual meeting in the snow-laden Swiss ski resort town of Davos. Their mother and Reliance Industries director Nita Ambani is also scheduled to be present.

Reliance (ADAG) Group chairman Anil Ambani, younger sibling of Mukesh Ambani, is also registered for the event.

From Essar Group, Prashant Ruia would join his father Shashi Ruia and uncle Ravi Ruia, while Wipro chairman Azim Premji would be joined by his son Rishad. Ravi Ruia’s daughter Smiti Kanodia would also be present.

Tulsi Tanti of Suzlon Energy on the other hand would be accompanied by his daughter Nidhi, while GMR Group would be represented by GBS Raju and Kiran Kumar Grandhi — sons of the group founder Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao. Srinivas Bommidala, son-in-law of G M Rao is among registered participants.

Bajaj Group’s Rahul Bajaj has been one of the most frequent attendees of WEF Meeting in Davos and would again be among the attendees, while the young leaders from the group including Anant Bajaj and Sanjiv Bajaj would also be present.

HCC’s Ajit Gulabchand would be accompanied by his son-in-law Arjun Dhawan. Also on the list is Huzaifa Khorakiwala, son of Habil Khorakiwala who has been in Davos on multiple occasions in the past.

The young leaders expected in Davos also include Ashok Leyland’s Dhiraj Hinduja, Advait Chaturvedi from Overseas Infrastructure Alliance (OIAPL), Amit Kalyani of Bharat Forge, Nihal Kulkarni of Kirloskar Oil Engines, Siddhartha Lal of Eicher Motors and Ratul Puri of Hindustan Power.

The top Indian business leaders expected to go Adi Godrej, Anand Mahindra, Cyrus Mistry, Chanda Kochhar, Uday Kotak, Rajiv Lall, Sunil Mittal, Naresh Goyal, C.P. Gurnani, Sajjan Jindal, Madhu Kannan, Rana Kapoor, Hari S. Bhartia, Arundhati Bhattacharya and N. Chandrasekaran.
