Colourful Sri Veera Hanuman Jayanti Yatra concludes peacefully

The lanes and bylines all along the yatra route turned saffron with devotees decorating them with flags, posters and banners

Hyderabad: The colourful Sri Veera Hanuman Jayanti Vijaya yatra started from Ram Mandir in Gowliguda here on Saturday morning passed off peacefully, amid tight security. The yatra concluded at Sri Hanuman Temple at Tadbund in Secunderabad after covering 12 kms from Gowliguda.

The procession started after performing special prayers at the temple. Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand also offered prayers. Devotees clad in saffron attire thronged in large numbers to take part in the yatra. A few devotees drew the attention of everyone by wearing saffron-colored dresses with the photographs of Lord Sita Rama and Sri Hanuman.

The lanes and bylines all along the yatra route turned saffron with devotees decorating them with flags, posters and banners. Devotees, especially youth, turned up in large numbers. The lanes reverberated with “Jai Sreeram” slogans. Several voluntary organizations offered free water, lemon rice and fruit juice to those taking part in the yatra.

On their part, the police elaborate security arrangements deploying as many as 17,000 personnel for the peaceful conduct of the yatra. Around 150 yatras were scheduled within the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate limits, with an additional 46 yatras originating from the Cyberabad and Rachakonda limits, all of which converged into the main procession.

A joint control room was also established at the ICCC building in Banjara Hills, commencing operations from 8 am. The control room served as a central point where officers from various departments were available to provide appropriate advice and assistance in case of any issues.

The main procession that started from Gowliguda Ram Mandir would proceed to Hanuman Mandir in Tadbund, Secunderabad via Putlibowli crossroads roads, Andhra Bank crossroads, Koti, DM&HS, Sultan Bazar crossroads, Ramkoti crossroads, Kachiguda crossroads, Narayanguda YMCA, Chikkadpally crossroads, RTC crossroads, Ashok Nagar, Gandhi Nagar back side Viceroy Hotel, Praga Tools, Kavadiguda, CGO Towers, Bansilalpet Road, Bible house, City Light Hotel, Bata showroom, Ujjaini Mahankali temple, Old Ramgopalpet police station, Paradise crossroads, CTO Junction, Lee Royal Palace, Brooke Bond, Imperial Garden, Mastan Café, and concluded at Hanuman Temple Tadbund.
