Hyderabad: Keeping in mind the farmer's plight, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday sanctioned Rs.51.52 crore for compensation of 41,361 farmers who lost crops in 5,528 acres in 29 districts in recently hit rains.
Following the Chief Minister's directions, agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao directed officials to take immediate measures to deposit the compensation funds to farmers bank accounts in the state.
The minister said that crops in thousands of acres were damaged due to hailstorms and unseasonal rains for the past two months in Telangana. The agriculture department officials have estimated the crop damage per farmer and submitted a report to the government.

Following the reports, the Chief Minister issued orders sanctioning Rs 51.52 crore for immediate relief of farmers," Nageswara Rao said.
The officials have estimated that crop damage has occurred in 5,528 acres of land belonging to 41,361 farmers in about 29 districts.
