CM Revanth Reddy to Convene High-Level Education Review Meeting

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is scheduled to convene a high-level review meeting with education principal secretary Burra Venkatesham and senior officials of the department on Monday. Coming weeks ahead of the reopening of educational institutions, the meeting is aimed at streamlining the education sector and will address key issues such as the impending fee hike in private institutions, the long-pending appointments of Vice Chancellors for state universities, and the government’s promises regarding the establishment and functioning of international schools.

The new academic calendar has already been set, with schools slated to reopen on June 12 and colleges to commence their sessions from June 1. The issue of fee hikes has raised concerns among parents and students alike, prompting the need for stringent regulations. The meeting is likely to focus on formulating policies to manage and possibly regulate these fee hikes to ensure affordability and accessibility of quality education.

The Vice-Chancellor appointments have been a contentious issue, expedite these appointments at the earliest.
