The United States of America found scoring... ... Skipper Surya Salvages Game Against USA

The United States of America found scoring increasingly difficult in their chase of 161 against India in the T20 World Cup 2026 match, reaching 49 for 3 after 10 overs. With 113 runs needed from 60 balls, the required run rate climbed steeply to 11.3 as India dominated the middle phase.

Milind Kumar is holding one end with 28 off 28 balls, including a six, while Sanjay Krishnamurthi is batting on 10 from 14 deliveries. The pair have added 36 runs for the fourth wicket, but the partnership has come at a slow pace.

India’s spinners applied the brakes effectively, with Varun Chakaravarthy conceding just 7 runs in two overs and Axar Patel giving away 11 runs in his two overs. In the last five overs, the USA managed only 25 runs without losing a wicket, but the lack of acceleration kept them under severe pressure.

With the asking rate rising sharply, India remained firmly in control of the contest.
