Continuing heavy rains across Kerala on Tuesday caused widespread disruption with trains delayed due to uprooted trees on tracks, flooding in low-lying areas of Wayanad and Kannur, and traffic snarls from landslides in Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam. Hundreds, including isolated tribal communities, were shifted to relief camps as rivers swelled and over 600 houses were damaged, with 21 completely destroyed. Power outages sparked protests in Pathanamthitta, while the India Meteorological Department issued an orange alert predicting very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in several districts.
