Mumbai Receives 106 mm Rainfall; IMD Warns of More Showers
Mumbai recorded 106 mm of rainfall in 24 hours ending Tuesday morning, with Nariman Point receiving a massive 252 mm, civic officials said. While suburban trains ran with minor delays, BEST buses and metro services mostly remained operational. The IMD has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds for the next 24 hours, following the early onset of the southwest monsoon. Monday’s downpour had flooded several low-lying areas and led to disruptions, including the temporary shutdown of Worli Naka’s new metro station.
