The Telangana government has allocated ₹258 crore for the handloom sector, aiming to support traditional weavers and promote the State’s rich textile heritage.
Iconic handloom products such as Pochampally Ikat, Gadwal sarees, Narayanpet sarees, Siddipet Gollabhama sarees, and Warangal durries continue to represent the cultural identity of the State.
Under the One Crore Sarees for One Crore Women programme, the government is distributing free sarees to women across the State. So far, around 70 lakh sarees have been distributed, with the remaining to be completed soon.
