Telangana Allocates Funds for SC, ST, BC & Minority Welfare

  • Scheduled Castes Welfare: ₹11,784 crore
  • Scheduled Tribes Welfare: ₹7,937 crore
  • Backward Classes Welfare: ₹12,511 crore
  • Minorities Welfare: ₹3,769 crore

The Telangana government has announced substantial allocations for the welfare of Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Backward Classes (BCs), and minorities, reinforcing its commitment to social justice and inclusive growth.

For SC welfare, ₹11,784 crore has been earmarked, with focus on education, skill development, and infrastructure such as community halls and Ambedkar Bhavans. The government is also constructing the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Knowledge Tower in Hyderabad.

An allocation of ₹7,937 crore has been proposed for ST welfare, with plans including the establishment of the Sammakka Saralamma Central Tribal University in Mulugu district, promotion of tribal products under the ‘GIRI’ brand, and setting up Adivasi Seva Kendras.

For Backward Classes, who constitute a significant share of the population, ₹12,511 crore has been allocated to support education, skill development, and traditional occupations.

The government has earmarked ₹3,769 crore for minorities welfare, focusing on economic empowerment and employment. Initiatives include distribution of sewing machines to women and skill training programmes for youth.
