Zydex - Keimfarben Bring New Paint Revolution with 20 Year Warranty
Dr Moulik Ranka, MD, Zydex Group, said even as India’s paints market moves towards the Rs 1 lakh crore mark, the long-term paint performance remains an underserved opportunity.

Pune: The Zydex and Germany-based Keimfarben partnership is revolutionizing the Indian decorative paint market with 20-year warranty against colour fading and film failure by adopting silicate mineral technology.
Industry honchos said even as India’s paints market moves towards the Rs 1 lakh crore mark, the long-term paint performance remains an underserved opportunity.
The guaranteed performance can avoid a four to five years repaint cycle typical of conventional acrylic systems in coastal cities in India.
The partnership believes the next axis of competition in the decorative paint business will be measured by performance over a building’s life and warranty.
Backed by a 20-year warranty against color fading and film failure, this collaboration brings advanced German silicate mineral technology directly to India.
Rather than just serving aesthetic purposes, these paints function as protective shielding for high-end infrastructure, saving millions in maintenance and access-equipment costs.
The companies have already partnered with major luxury real estate developers, such as M3M India in Gurugram, to coat the exterior facades of premium properties like M3M Golf Hills.
Noting the benefits of mineral chemistry over conventional film-forming coatings, the company claimed the Town Hall in Schwyz, Switzerland, coated with KEIM silicate paint in 1891, has not been repainted since.
Dr Moulik Ranka, MD, Zydex Group, said even as India’s paints market moves towards the Rs 1 lakh crore mark, the long-term paint performance remains an underserved opportunity.
“Silicate Mineral Paint Solutions can potentially build a Rs 1,500–2,000 crore category by shifting the industry’s focus from repeated repainting to lifecycle value,” he noted.
He said with over 95 per cent localization, the company is combining global technology with Indian manufacturing to make durable and sustainable building protection more accessible.
Silicate mineral paints chemically bond with compatible mineral surfaces instead of forming a surface film, creating a breathable facade that allows trapped moisture to escape while preventing peeling, blistering and dampness. The UV-stable mineral pigments retain colour and visual character for years, significantly reducing the need for frequent repainting.
Rudiger Lugert, CEO, Keimfarben GmbH, said backed by nearly 150 years of proven silicate technology, KEIM has delivered durable performance across diverse climates.
Combined with Zydex’s local expertise, the partnership is not about introducing another paint but setting a new benchmark for long-lasting, sustainable, and high-performance building protection, he added.
Zydex and KEIM will initially focus on high-rises, hospitals, universities, commercial assets, premium residential projects and developments in India.
Amrendra Mishra, COO, Zydex Paints, said the strong engagement with architects and trained applicators will be central to doubling the paints and waterproofing business to about Rs 300 crore in two years.
