The Indian stock market is closed on Thursday, April 10, on account of Mahavir Jayanti 2025, an important religious festival in Jainism, celebrating the birth of Lord Mahavira.
Both the stock exchanges, National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bomaby Stock Exchange (BSE) are not conducting any trading or settlement in stocks, derivatives, or securities lending and borrowing (SLB) segments on Thursday.
Market participants should note that in April there are three holidays on Dalal Street, in addition to the eight closures over the weekends. Besides the stock market closure on April 10 for Mahavir Jayanti, the Indian markets will remain closed on April 14 for Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti, and on April 18 for Good Friday.
