Reliance-JV to build ₹98,000 Cr AI-Ready Data Hub In Vizag

The investment, planned through 2030, will create 1 GW of capacity across roughly 400 acres, marking one of the largest digital-infrastructure commitments in the state: Officials

VIJAYAWADA: Minister for education, IT and electronics Nara Lokesh announced on Wednesday that Reliance-JV Digital Connexion will invest ₹98,000 crore to build a 1-gigawatt hyperscale data centre in Visakhapatnam, declaring on X: “Vizag emerges as the Data Capital of India!”

The Andhra Pradesh government said Digital Connexion — a joint venture between Reliance Industries, Brookfield and Digital Realty — has signed an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) to set up an AI-native, world-class data-centre campus in the city.

Officials said the investment, planned through 2030, will create 1 GW of capacity across roughly 400 acres, marking one of the largest digital-infrastructure commitments in the state. The facility will feature global-standard, high-density AI-ready racks, dedicated substations, redundant power feeds and robust connectivity designed to serve hyperscalers, enterprise clients, cloud platforms and future AI workloads.

The state government, through APEDB and other departments, will provide full facilitation, including land allocation, swift regulatory and environmental clearances, and assured power and connectivity.

The project is expected to deliver major socioeconomic benefits by generating employment during construction and operations, boosting ancillary industries and strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s digital ecosystem.
