KSDL Registers Rs 507 Crore Profit

Bengaluru: State owned enterprise, Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL) recorded a turnover of Rs 2016 crore in the financial year 2025-26 with a profit of 507 crore.
Minister of Large Scale Industries M.B. Patil on Tuesday said the KSDL took 105 years to reach a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore and the turnover doubled to Rs 2,000 crore in the last four years. The turnover was Rs 1,375 crore in 2022-23 and currently, the KSDL’s turnover grew to Rs 2016 crore an increase of Rs 641 crore in a short span of time.
Patil said the organization had 34 products and in the last years, as many as 57 new products have been added in line with market trends and the total products made by KSDL stands at 94. Despite having a production capacity of 26,000 metric tonnes, he said, efficient operations enabled production of 47, 494 tonnes in 2025-26 without new recruitment or machinery purchases.
Out of the Rs 507 profit, Patil said Rs 157 crore will be paid as dividend to the government which is an increase of Rs 22 crore in dividend to Rs 135 crore paid previous year and another Rs 5 crore will be contributed to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Patil said KSDL aims to achieve a turnover of Rs 3,000 crore by 2028 and Rs 5,000 crore by 2030. To support this growth, the Minister said a new manufacturing unit will be established on 50 acres in Vijayapura for which Rs 229 crore has been sanctioned by the State Government.
The Minister said steps have been initiated to expand the exports and strengthen the KSDL’s presence across the country and tenders have been invited worth Rs 15 crore for purchase of new machinery.
KSDL Chairman C.S. Appaji Nadagouda said a team of officials from KSDL visited Australia and other countries to explore opportunities for expansion of market and plans will be made to enter markets in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to make KSDL’s cosmetic and perfume segments presence felt.
