Reliance Jio has emerged as the top performer in the TRAI Independent Drive Test (IDT) conducted across Visakhapatnam, further reinforcing its dominance in Andhra Pradesh’s telecom sector. The operator secured leading scores in crucial parameters such as Network Availability, Broadband Services, Accessibility, and Retainability.
The comprehensive IDT spanned key locations across the city, including Siripuram Junction, IT Park Beach, MVP Colony, Rushikonda Beach, Bheemili, and Gajuwaka. Prominent hubs like Vizag Steel Plant, RTC Bus Complex, Visakhapatnam Railway Station, and the Airport were also covered, as well as coastal zones like Ferry Boat Line, Dock Viewpoint, and Rambilli Naval Dockyard. This wide coverage ensured a complete assessment of mobile service performance across diverse terrain.
Unmatched Performance Metrics
Jio outshone all other operators with a Call Setup Success Rate of 99.83% and an extremely low mute/silence rate of just 0.72%, ensuring high voice clarity. It also delivered an average download speed of 204.91 Mbps and upload speed of 18.02 Mbps, leading the market in data performance. Furthermore, the network clocked an impressive latency of just 23 milliseconds, a key metric for real-time services like online gaming and video conferencing.
In a significant achievement, Jio recorded zero call drops throughout the entire IDT area—guaranteeing users uninterrupted voice connectivity.
Superior Signal Quality
Jio also led in signal strength, with 48.87% of the network area showing ‘Excellent’ signal coverage, while poor coverage areas were limited to only 2.37%—reflecting the operator’s robust and optimized infrastructure.
