Hyderabad: Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. has further consolidated its position as the premier digital connectivity provider in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana telecom circle, posting robust subscriber additions across both wireless and broadband segments in March 2026. The latest subscription data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) highlights Jio's uncontested leadership in next-generation broadband solutions and a strong upward trajectory in traditional mobile services.
Jio's most striking performance in the region continues to be its rapid expansion of high-speed home and enterprise broadband. The company is virtually capturing the entirety of the wireline growth in the circle. In March 2026, Jio added 31,000 new wireline connections, pushing its total fixed-line base in the circle past the two-million mark to 2.02 million. By contrast, Bharti Airtel, added just 7,648 connections during the same period.
This dominance extends seamlessly into wireless broadband, where Jio remains the undisputed leader in 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA). The operator added 22,003 5G FWA subscribers in a single month to reach a total of 7,33,617, vastly outpacing Airtel, which added only 6,103 subscribers to reach a base of 3,26,398. Demonstrating its unique technological footprint, Jio is also the sole operator offering Unlicensed Band Radio (UBR) FWA services in the circle, successfully adding 18,991 users to reach 353,145 subscribers. Combined, Jio now operates over 1.08 million dedicated FWA connections in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, making it the primary driving force behind the region's digital transformation.
In the traditional wireless mobile segment too, Jio demonstrated a highly competitive performance, maintaining its position as a strong growth engine for the region. Jio added a strong 1,49,464 wireless subscribers in March 2026, bringing its total mobile user base in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circle to 32.22 million.
Consolidation of National Market Leadership
Jio's regional success is mirrored by its formidable national performance, where it remains the largest telecom operator in India by a significant margin. Nationally, Jio extended its lead as the largest broadband service provider, combining wired and wireless connections, with a colossal base of 523.44 million subscribers. This massive subscriber base commands nearly half of the entire Indian broadband market at 49.11 percent.
In the national wireless mobile sector, the company added over 3.22 million subscribers nationwide, propelling its total wireless subscriber base to 496.33 million and securing a commanding national market share of 39.21 percent. Furthermore, reflecting its aggressive nationwide push into fiber and fixed-line services, Jio added the highest number of wireline subscribers nationally, bringing in 188,698 new connections in the month of March.
