Democratic Sangha Forum 2025 Sparks National Dialogue on Strengthening India’s Democracy

Designed as a space for constructive dialogue on the state of India’s democracy, the forum encouraged participants to explore actionable pathways toward a more resilient, equitable, and participatory future.

The Democratic Sangha Annual Forum 2025, presented by the Race2Win Foundation and co-hosted by The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace, concluded in Hyderabad after a day of rich discussion, reflection, and exchange among policymakers, civic leaders, scholars, and public servants from across India. Designed as a space for constructive dialogue on the state of India’s democracy, the forum encouraged participants to explore actionable pathways toward a more resilient, equitable, and participatory future.

A major highlight of the gathering was the panel discussion, “Policy Beyond Politics: A Vision for Informed Change,” featuring Shri Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology & Digital Services, Government of Tamil Nadu; Smt. G. Renuka Chowdhury, Member of Parliament; Shri K.R. Suresh Reddy, Member of Parliament; and Shri Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, Member of Parliament. The panelists offered thoughtful insights on governance reform, institutional accountability, technology’s role in public systems, and the importance of informed citizen participation in shaping meaningful policy outcomes.
Another key moment was the presentation of the Annual Changemaker Awards, where guest of honor Shilpa Reddy felicitated individuals and organizations demonstrating exceptional leadership, integrity, and measurable community impact. Her presence added distinction to the ceremony and underscored the value of recognising those who embody the spirit of democratic progress and positive societal change.
The forum’s policy discourse was anchored by the POT x DS Panel Discussion Highlights, which synthesized ten critical governance themes influencing India’s present and future. These themes ranged from modernizing bureaucratic processes, strengthening Centre–State fiscal cooperation, and advancing long-term agricultural reforms to nurturing equitable procurement opportunities for startups, enhancing governance training for elected representatives, empowering urban local bodies, accelerating women’s political representation, safeguarding electoral integrity through digital tools, building structured youth leadership pipelines, and reimagining higher education to close the country’s persistent skill gap. Together, these conversations offered a holistic lens through which participants evaluated India’s democratic challenges and opportunities, aiming for thoughtful, future-ready solutions.
Democratic Sangha, the nonprofit and nonpartisan organization behind the forum, continues its mission to strengthen India’s democratic fabric through civic education, human rights advocacy, women’s leadership, electoral reforms, and community-driven engagement. Founded by Chaitanya MRSK and co-founded by actor Regena Cassandrra, the organization believes that an informed and engaged citizenry is the cornerstone of a vibrant democracy. Its initiatives—ranging from women’s and youth leadership development to voter education and social reform—work toward cultivating ethical leadership and building stronger democratic institutions across the country.
