Samsung aims to raise mart share

Mr Sharma added that the company expects a 10 per cent rise in contribution from its premium portfolio in the 2018 calendar year.

Hyderabad: Following the launch of their new range of washing machines, Samsung, which currently holds 22 per cent market share across India, expects a further 5 per cent jump in the washing machine segment, a company official said on Friday.

Speaking to the media, Samsung India’s consumer electronics deputy general manager Maneesh Sharma said, “Samsung grew about 15 per cent in the previous year that is much higher than the industry average of about 10 per cent. Currently, we hold about 22 per cent of the market share in the washing machine segment. We expect about to see a rise of about five per cent in the current fiscal.”

Mr Sharma added that the company expects a 10 per cent rise in contribution from its premium portfolio in the 2018 calendar year.
