New Delhi: Union finance minister Piyush Goyal said that the Directorate-General of anti-profiteering has been directed to keep a tab on manufacturers of sanitary napkins so that benefits of GST rate cut are passed on.
There have been reports that the prices won’t dip following exemption from GST since manufacturers won’t be able to claim credit on raw materials.
Terming those as “misplaced calculation”, he said, “I have already instructed to ensure that either the rates would have come down on July 1 or it should come down now.”
