This filmmaker’s penchant for chaste Tamil is well-known in the film circuit. KV Anand’s film titles also reflect the same, with Ko, Ayan, and Anegan. The cinematographer-turned-director’s latest offering which has Vijay Sethupathi, T. Rajhendherr and Madonna Sebastian is no different. It is titled Kavan, which means catapult. The movie has the tagline, ‘Aim the target’, and is being produced by the prestigious AGS Entertainment. According to sources, the film is a thriller, which will be in KV Anand’s style of narration.
Apart from KV Anand and his regular screenwriter SuBa, Kabilan Vairamuthu has been credited for the story and screenplay. This also marks the debut of the younger son of ace Vairamuthu as a screenwriter. When DC contacted Kabilan to find out how they zeroed in on the title Kavan, he said, “The entire team was working on various options and one among them was Kavan, which we felt is apt for the story. And of course, it was KV sir who took the final call. In fact, he had tweeted a puzzle a few days back, which had clues of various names and asked, ‘Can you guess the title of AGS 18? And the clue for Kavan was also present in the poster.”
