Bengaluru: Though the country is moving towards making a phenomenal makeover to its existing tax regime, many tax payers and businesses still struggle to put an end to all the ambiguities associated with the implementation of GST policy. Cashing in on all the perplexities surrounding GST are charted accountants.
CAclubindia CEO Vivek Jain said that CAs have become five times busier than before, helping their clients demystify GST. “Many businesses from tier 1 and tier 2 cities have been approaching CAs to conduct workshops on GST. CA is the bridge between taxpayers and government authorities,” Mr Jain said.
With CAs in the country gaining more importance among small businesses and tax payers, there’s no doubt that the 4 slab taxation has opened up a huge business opportunity for them. Preeti Khurana, a CA with ClearTax, said that after the announcement of GST policy, the firm’s business has grown manifold. “Many transition issues will start to appear when the government decides to move from old regime to a new one. That’s when CAs become busy and there is a huge business opportunity for us,” she said.
