Gold futures up by Rs 91 on firm global cues
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery rose by Rs 29,234 per 10 grams.
New Delhi: Gold prices rose by Rs 91 to Rs 29,234 per 10 grams in futures trading today as speculator enlarged their positions amid a firming trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in April rose by Rs 91, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 29,234 per 10 grams, in a business turnover of 266 lots.
Similarly, the yellow metal for delivery in far-month June was trading higher by Rs 86, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 29,300 per 10 grams in two lots. Analysts said widening of bets by speculators in sync with a firming trend in the global markets as weakness in the dollar raised appeal of the precious metals, influenced gold futures. Globally, gold rose as much as 0.11 per cent to USD 1,234.50 an ounce in Singapore.
