HYDERABAD: Indiana, US senator Todd Young on Saturday said that the US-India partnership was the key to preserving peace and prosperity in the 21 century. Young was in the city to meet local business leaders, government officials, alumni of the U.S. and exchange programs.
He was received at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport by US Consul General Jennifer Larson on Thursday.
After touring Tata Lockheed Martin Aerostructures Limited, he visited T-Hub/T-Works, attended a reception with industry and civil society leaders and met IT minister K.T. Rama Rao.
“From students in our great universities to business leaders throughout the state, Indians and Indian-Americans are enriching communities throughout Indiana. I am proud to continue the good work in Hyderabad.” he said.
Tata Lockheed produces empennages for the US Air Force C-130J Hercules transport aircraft. In the T-Hub campus, he interacted with state government officials and entrepreneurs before meeting Rama Rao.
The senator visited the US Consulate General’s new facility in Nanakramguda, where he also attended a round-table discussion on science and technology supply chains to deepen ties following the enactment of the CHIPS and Science Act.
Over a luncheon he met local leaders who had studied in the US and also the alumni of Kennedy-Lugar Fellowship, an educational exchange program co-founded by the late Richard Lugar, who was a senator from Indiana. Young wrapped up his visit by joining an iftar with MIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi.
