Steel firm picks Telangana for new plant
Hyderabad: Jai Raj Ispat Ltd on Wednesday announced plans to establish a steel plant in Dharur mandal of Mahbubnagar district with an outlay of '3,000 crore.
The proposed plant will come up at the group’s 250-acre site in the district.
Company executive director Siddharth Jain met minister K.T. Rama Rao and informed him about the company’s plans to set up the plant in Telangana.
He said the company’s management had surveyed opportunities in various states but had decided to choose Telangana due its proactive and prompt support.
According to a statement, the plant will come up in two phases with an investment of Rs 3,000 crore. With a production capacity of 10 lakh tonne annually, the plant will provide direct employment to 1,200 while another 3,500 people would be indirectly benefited.
Mr Rama Rao assured the company of all cooperation and directed Mr Arvind Kumar, secretary, industries, and Mahbubnagar collector Sreedevi to take steps and facilitate the project.
