Women entrepreneurs shine at expo

Hyderabad: The fourth edition of the Business Women Expo, showcasing 220 women innovators from 15 states, ended on a high note at Hitex on Sunday night, with awards to innovators and a display of various initiatives.

The 2023 edition ran with a theme of ‘More Power To Women’, as women entrepreneurs supported by the MSME ministry, T-Hub, WE-Hub, WEDO, Indus Entrepreneurs and the Indian Chamber of Commerce, among others, came together.

Food stalls serving indigenous dishes, unique murals, dhokra wall frames and yoga ball chairs were among a wide array of business stalls that caught the public imagination.

A stall ‘AasaanWill’ advised women to secure their hard-earned properties. “Unfortunately, 95 percent of the Indian population does not know much about will and will writing,” Abhinav of AasanWill said.

Industries and IT principal secretary Jayesh Ranjan launched the Women Entrepreneurs Club, WEDO’s Hyderabad Chapter at the event.

Nawab Mir Nasir Ali Khan, Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan also visited the expo and gave away ‘visionary women’ awards to distinguished businesswomen of India. Women entrepreneurs from across the globe were in attendance.

Veteran film star Amala Akkineni and UK Deputy High Commissioner Gareth Wynn Owen inaugurated the event earlier in the day.

Dr K.B.R.S. Visarda, principal scientist-IIM, Deepthi Ravula, CEO of WE-Hub, Dr Shilpi Reddy of KIMS Hospital, M. Srinivas Rao of MSME ministry, WEDO founder Kadambari Umapathy, FTCCI president Anil Agarwal and SCSC general secretary Krishna Yedula were also present on the occasion.
