Petrol bunks strike from October 12 midnight
Bengaluru, Hyderabad: The United Petroleum Front (UPF) has announced a 24-hour closure of outlets by petroleum dealers nationwide from October 12 midnight to press the government on their demands, including rectification of trade anomalies.
The UPF has said that if the government does not relent, it would go for an indefinite closure of purchase and sale from October 27.
Meanwhile, the petrol bunk owners in the Telugu states have extended their support to the strike call.
Mr Rajiv Amaram, the president of the Telangana Petroleum Dealers Association, said, “Petrol pump owners want fuel to be taxable under the GST, revision of dealer commission every six months, cancellation of the daily revision of fuel prices and withdrawal of the proposal to launch home delivery services for fuel.”
