Retailers slam etail majors

The committee has been set up when only this year government had come out with policy on FDI in e-commerce.

New Delhi: Retailers on Wednesday filed complaint against Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal with DIPP for their pre-independence sales, saying it violates FDI norms.

This even as when Centre has decided to set up a committee to review norms regarding foreign direct investment in e-commerce industry and look into other issues.

The committee has been set up when only this year government had come out with policy on FDI in e-commerce.

CAIT in its complaints alleged that the etailers were violating the FDI Policy. “It is noteworthy to mention that during past three days these companies have give big advertisements in media announcing sale on their platform,” said CAIT.
