Bengaluru: BJP flays Dalit leader's murder
BENGALURU: The murder of Kadiresh, husband of BJP corporator Rekha Kadiresh, has been condemned by the opposition BJP.
Former deputy chief minister R. Ashok, who held the home portfolio in the previous government, said, “It is very shocking and beyond our comprehension as to how one of our party corporator’s husband was killed on Wednesday afternoon. Last Sunday, while addressing a rally in Bengaluru, PM, Narendra Modi took a potshot at the deteriorating law and order in Karnataka and said while in the rest of country, we talk of ease of living but in Karnataka, the circumstances favour ease of committing murders. This murder has substantiated his views.”
He pointed out that this was the second brutal murder of a Dalit leader in a span of two weeks, and 25th political murder in the last four and half years of the Siddaramaiah government.
“It is sad that Siddaramaiah government is busy attacking the Prime Minister and instigating various sections of the society through anti-people decisions. We are witnessing a total lawlessness in Karnataka. This also proves Home Minister R. Ramalinga Reddy’s incompetency. We strongly condemn the incident and want the government to immediately arrest the perpetrators and order an impartial inquiry.”
