Hyderabad: The proposal to lower corporate taxes in the US would help Synchrony Financial’s operations here in India, according to officials on Wednesday.
Speaking to this newspaper on fresh hirings for the coming year, senior vice-president Faisal Uddin said, “We don’t reveal numbers but our Indian operations are directly related to the growth of our business in the United States.”
When pressed about how the change in tax structure in the US may affect the business, COO Kurt Grossheim added, “Since we are a US-based firm, lower corporate taxes there would definitely help (our business). But the two houses so far have passed two different set of laws.”
