Global business summit will see 1,500 women in attendance
Hyderabad: Nearly 1,500 women, including chief executive officers, entrepreneurs, investors and ecosystem supporters, from across the world will participate in the eighth Global Entrepreneurship Summit to be held in Hyderabad from November 28 to 30.
This will include training and mentoring sessions, networking and investment matchmaking.
The event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ivanka Trump, senior advisor to President of the United States Donald Trump.
The Summit, whose theme is “Women First, Prosperity for All”, will focus on four key areas health and life sciences, digital economy, energy and infrastructure, and media and entertainment.
Dr C. Murali Krishna Kumar, the Senior Advisor of NITI Aayog, said, “We are planning to launch an app exclusively for the Summit, to help delegates and participants connect with each and other and plan their engagements in advance.”
Katherine Hadda, the Consul General of the USA in Hyderabad, said, “There are 130 companies in Hyderabad which in addition to creating jobs in India and the USA, are actively working towards encouraging entrepreneurship and women empowerment. This Summit will enable us to introduce even more American entrepreneurs and investors to this dynamic region. Hyderabad has been chosen because of the presence of major American and Indian tech firms, a robust start-up ecosystem, premier academic institutions, top-notch talent, and supportive government policies, all of which encourage entrepreneurship.”
Speaking about Ivanka Trump’s itinerary, Jennifer Arangio, the Senior Director of the US National Security Council, told reporters at the White House, “Ivanka Trump’s main focus will be the summit. The GES being hosted in India is a sign of the broad and enduring partnership between our two countries.”
