World IT Congress in Hyderabad on 2018
Hyderabad: Information Technology minister for Telangana State KTR Rao on Wednesday confirmed that the government of Telangana along with Nasscom will jointly host the 2018 World Congress on Information Technology in Hyderabad.
Speaking at the Nasscom press conference, Mr Rao announced that India had won the bid to host the prestigious annual event in 2018 before going on to talk in lengths about the much awaited GST Bill.
India’s bid for the World Congress received competition from Taiwan and Armenia early on in the race but afterwards proved to be an easy victory. The dates for the event, though, has yet to be confirmed but World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA), Secretary General, Jim Poisant was present himself to announce the final decision and to help India make the necessary preparations required for the upcoming event.
