Hyderabad: Union finance minister Arun Jaitley on Friday said that stringent action has been taken against employees of public and private sector bank involved in irregularities relating to note ban.

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Mr Jaitley informed TRS MP B. “In respect of private sector banks, RBI informed that 11 employees have been placed under suspension where bank employees have been found involved in irregular exchange of transaction of Specified Bank Note during the phase of demonetisation,” he told Mr Kumar.

He added, “RBI has further informed that the banks have initiated internal investigation and complaints have been filed with police and CBI.”
