Bank unions threaten stir on December 21
Hyderabad: Bank officers have threatened a one-day national strike on December 21, seeking various benefits and opposing the merger of rural banks, and proposed consolidation of public sector banks.
“We have urged IBA on January 13, 2016 to expedite the process of wage revision. Despite several reminders from the government, negotiations have commenced only on May 2, 2017,” said the All India Bank Officers’ Con-federation in a statement.
Apart from this, the statement said the bank officials body also wants a five-day week for bank officials, settlement of retirees issues, focus on core business and NPA recovery, switching over to old pension payment scheme and also immediate resolution of employee issues in Catholic Syrian Bank and IDBI Bank.
